Our first Mediterranean stopover #Ibiza
In the same vein as for our GPS coordinates on our pre collection, Amance crew continue the cruise and share with you our favourites spots of beautiful destinations
After having launched our spring summer collection, we drop again the anchor for the first stop of our Carnet de Bord in another Mediterranean bliss: Ibiza.
Very peaceful island near the east border of Spain, Ibiza is full of many resources (and not only to party !). Concept stores, hippy chic, healthy restaurants, local boutique hotels that we call Fincas and their garden, very cute and small villages, and beautiful beaches, the island is a little paradise. Slow life and slow food is the mantra, in total adequation with nature. The best is to get away outside of busy periods to enjoy all of the nice things to do without too much crowd.
Boutique hotels/ Local fincas :
La Granja : a very confidential and unique / exclusive hotel of only 9 rooms. It used to be an old but charming stone house that has been rebuilt and refurnished in a very Iberian, authentic style with a typical architecture. Agenda: meditation, yoga, crafts and artisans and organic food. 10 hectares of organic garden for a green detox even in your plate! The restaurant is actually about to become one of the best farm to table locally.
Can Xuxu : created by Alexandre and his charming smile for a few years, this traditional Finca is a trip within a trip. With its Balinese cabins directly imported from Bali, you truly have the impression to be there! Decoration is very polished, team is anticipating every of your need so that you are part of a family-owned business and really feel at home ! Clients are called Guests for even more friendliness.
Bonus : only 12 rooms so that the swimming pool is always very quiet during the day
Agroturismo Atzaro : gorgeous hotel in a very elegant style, although the size of the facility is quite impressive ! The pool is THE best viewpoint for a perfect instagram story and the restaurant is delicious. Atzaro also has its own garden from where are coming every vegetables, fruits, herbs, and botanicals for the kitchen. Healthy as a matter of fact and lovely ! the only shadow is the price.
Gertrudis Suites : lovely boutique hotel in the very centre of Santa Gertrudis (THE cutest village). Ideally located, more urban with the pool on the rooftop, rooms are very modern, in a Nordic and refined style
A Mi Manera : the atmosphere is so romantic and chic. Food is amazing and service is excellent. What more to ask ? prices are a bit expensive though.
La Paloma : charming finca painted in white and blue, very relaxing, in total harmony with nature and Mediterranean recipes. Products are very fresh, from the garden or sourcing from Italy.
Aubergine : traditional finca with a very bucolic decoration. Mediterranean healthy food is coming from the organic garden. It belongs to the same group of Atzaro so it is safe to say that this place is a must. There also is an art gallery at the entrance and a cute little boutique with summer clothes, accessories.
La Brasa : adorable restaurant in the centre of Ibiza old town. The atmosphere is very delicate and adorable for a dinner where you can admire the beauty of its patio and garden. The menu is only about grilled meats and fishes and desserts are very yummy as well.
Los Enamorados : going up to the north of island to Portinatx (old fisherman’s village) to unearth this hip, playful, with a fantastic sea view on the port. Vibe is reminding the 70’s, folklore, retro, influences are multiple to create a colourful hodgepodge. All is cool, laid back. Just underneath the restaurant you can rent a non-licence boat and go explore the little coves near by.
El Bigotes : cute restaurant on a little beach near cala mestella, the panorama is super nice and all is fire cooked. The only menu option is daily fish ! Very local atmosphere, peaceful and food is very good.
El Amante : big crush ! magical place in a very modern and sophisticated environment. El Amante restaurant and beach club is located on a beautiful Cala Sol d’en Serra where the point of view from the restaurant is breath taking. You can either enjoy a lunch or / and spend the day on a sunbed. The organic food finds its inspiration from Italy and Spain. The place is very appreciated so strongly recommend booking beforehand.
Best spots for sunset :
Sunet Ashram : magnificent point of view on the sunset. Atmosphere is very hippie, under the sound of tam-tam, the restaurant is slightly kitsch, settled in the rock. Be very patient to order and get there very early to have a chance to find a space.
Hostal la Torre : absolutely stunning. Ask for a table on the terrace or directly on the rock and again get there by 8pm to make sure seeing the sunset that starts around 8 :30pm. The only shame is that the food is quite expensive and not really amazing. But the view and chilled atmosphere make it up without any doubt.
Elephant concept store : just next to the Paloma restaurant. This little boutique is very hippy chic style and have a pretty selection of clothes, accessories, jewels very Mediterranean style. And you can have lunch / dinner at La Paloma, perfect combo !
Sluiz : welcome to the circus ! Very fun and unique experience where you can find basically all what you need : furniture, clothes, shoes, accessories and it all starts when you get to the car park with little jokes..
In Ibiza old town you will find very typical and nice boutiques with Mediterranean clothes, hats, accessories. Do not hesitate to walk around and get lost in the charming streets.
Beach clubs :
Cotton beach club : in the south of the island on Cala Tarida, this restaurant in all white, and very chic ambiance is ideal to spend a relaxing afternoon on a sunbed in front of a beautiful panorama. White sand and limpid water, the restaurant overlooks the beach.
Experimental beach : do we still need to introduce the great team behind the experimental concept ? Cool and trendy atmosphere. The best is to fully enjoy the day until the sun comes down to enjoy a different atmosphere (more festive). To get there, a little rodeo drive among the Salines of Ibiza!
Visit old town of Ibiza, so enchanting and the point of view from the castle is quite impressive. The atmosphere is also very friendly by night and/or to have lunch at the S’escalinata bar (quite famous for the people who sits on the stairs)
Night market Las Dalias (very hippie) you can also have dinner there. It is only opened on Mondays and Tuesdays night though.
If it rains (which is quite rare but still) go by car visit the little villages in the north of the island (Santa Agnes / Sant Mateu / Sant Miquel/ Sant Joan)
Having a coffee in Santa Gertrudis and then making a little tour in the boutiques near by.
Looking for the hidden beaches on the island with a roadmap
Get seeing Es Vedra, very nice point of view in the south of the island
Spending the day on a boat, going to Formentera
Party : San Antonio is the place where you can find many bars and clubs (not a huge attractivity apart from that), Also in the centre of the island are located some clubs,
next to the airport d’En Bossa and The salines beach. Must is Hi Ushuaia and its line up. The Amnesia, Pasha, have a look at the program before landing on the island, multiple choices.
Advices : Rent a car to be free to hang out
The nicest and most quiet beaches are in the north of the island
Closing party are apparently the best
Book any restaurant / beach club at least a week before
